OHMYGOD!OHMYGOD!OHMYGOD!

I saw this the other day and died inside (in the ABSOLUTE best way possible).
Yeah, yeah, Lost will be back in January (on my half birthday, if we want to get technical).  That's not what I'm beyond super stoked about... do you see who's right in the middle??? That's right, DESMOND!!! I was so scared that since they were off the island they were going to knock him back out of being a main character, and I just can't live with that!!! As I've said before, if they ever kill him, I'm out!  Best. Character. Ever.

Also, on an almost equally import note, the producers have said that Vincent will make it safe and sound through the end of the series.  Hooray! (Yeah, I get really excited when he pops up in episodes.  And yeah, I cried when they launched the raft and he chased it into the water trying to get to Walt.)

If you haven't seen this yet, you MUST watch it!

While I still can't say I'm a fan (and probably never will), The Fray have found a loophole into my heart by forever linking themselves to the 2 shows I love the most, Scrubs and Lost.  Damn them!  And lets not lie, I teared up the first time I watched it (I am still not over Charlie's death and now Jin's(???) and I'm SUCH a girl about the Penny/Des situation).

Wow, I just nerded out to the max!

Hair metal is good for you

I've come to the realization that I may be the worlds worst blogger.  I'd really like to blog more often and with better content, but those things don't really seem to go hand-in-hand, so I'm content blogging less often if it means I think my blogs are a little less 'blah' (and maybe you, my dear readers (all 5 of you), will think so too).

I've had a lot of things happen in the last 2 weeks that would probably make for decent bloggin' and maybe I'll sit down later and write that blog, but not right now... I'd like to take this opportunity to write a quickie about something else.

Lets be honest, we all saw this coming... hell, I even had the "pleasure" about two years ago of listening to a couple of the tracks from the album, so I knew how bad it was going to be ahead of time... but I hoped- nay!- prayed that some miracle would occur and we'd all be wrong.  All this does is feed to my suspicion that there is no God, or that if there is, he is, in fact, the vengeful, spiteful God of the Old Testament.  So, I guess I'll go ahead and officially say this for the record... Chinese Democracy is shit.  I blame it 100% on Axl (as he is really the only member of the Guns N' Roses we know and love that is still a part of Guns N' Roses).  Wait.  No.  I blame it on his stupid hair... remember when he didn't have his cornrows, or dreads, or whatever the hell they are?  Yeah...GN'R kicked some ass back then.  Yes, he was still a douche, yes, they all were out of their minds fucked up on whatever they could get into their bodies, but they fucking ruled.  They were hair metal at it's best!  Now, not so much.  It makes me sad.  For those of you that know me (or pay attention when you read my blog... you shouldn't, bad idea, it'll make you dumber), you may have gathered that I kinda love GN'R.  I mean, I have a pup named Slash and had a goldfish named Axl Rose (R.I.P. lil' buddy!  Sorry Freddie Mercury gave you the fish AIDS)... Poor Axl is probably rolling in his toilet bowl grave!  Luckily Slash is too much of a spaz to ever know what's going on (plus human Slash will still rock your face off).  And should I ever get married, I fully plan on rocking the wedding dress from "November Rain."  Yeah, I'm that cool.

OK, I feel like I've rambled enough... this whole thing probably could be condensed into a much shorter (as was my intention) blog, i.e. the following two sentences: Chinese Democracy sucks balls.  Fuck you 'new' Axl.

Know what the best part of driving a box truck in crazy winds on about 45 minutes of sleep is?  Yeah, me either... awful!

They're real! They're real!

This was originally what I was going to blog about, but I was sidetracked by how awesome I think I am.

Today I walked into the middle of a cute boy meeting!  I was almost starting to believe that they only existed in my head and in legends... it's not true, they're real and I saw it with my own eyes!!!  Like I told Beth, I think you can only find them when you're not looking though, you know, like unicorns and chupacabras.  It was glorious!  I can't even begin to imagine what they were talking about, but lets be honest, it doesn't even matter.  So to you nay sayers I say, believe... and one day you too may find yourself in the middle of a cute boy meeting!

And yes, Beth and Misty, I'm working on a trap to catch some to bring to you both.

And yes again, it kinda sucked cause I had to go to the bathroom, but I was not about to go in front of the gathering.

Because you guys are smarter than MySpace

I had to post this bulletin and I'm hoping that maybe someone here can tell me why I even had to do this in the first place.  Wait... I just answered my own question, it's because I had to be "friends" with little girlies who only know what their parents preach to them while I was out with the Jonas Brothers.  Although, I've noticed that there are other people that this pertains to that I actually considered to be a little smarter.  Oops.  Lets all laugh at them together:

***edit: I actually met a bunch of really rad kids while I was out too... some of whom I still keep in touch with.  And "friends" was meant in the MySpace sense of the word, not like I hated talking to kids everyday... cause I didn't, like I said, many, many rad kids.  Sorry, I felt a little too douchy for a second.***

I'ma 'merican and I like to party!

I was just at a military surplus store (obvs hoarding so as to be more 'merican.  Goddam librals ain't gonna take my guns!  Jokes!!  For work, that place scares the shit out of me)... anyway, they had this bumper sticker up at the front counter that had a picture of Hillary Clinton and said "a woman's place is in the house- just not the White House."  Now, maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's what we call ironic.  So I guess those 'good ol' boys' will be casting their votes for Mr. Obama, right?  Oh, wait... he's black(enough)... and a terrorist.  And Sarah Palin is the only woman crazy enough for conservatives to vote for, because, by God, she sure does love Jesus and shootin animals!  And that, as we all know, is what America is all about.

As you head to the polls

If you're still not sure who to vote for, think about this: who would Dave Grohl vote for?

Well, lets look at the facts:
-The Foo's released the following statement when the McCain camp decided to campaign using "My Hero" without consent: "This isn't the first time the McCain campaign has used a song without making any attempt to get approval or permission from the artist.  It's frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property.  The saddest thing about this is that 'My Hero' was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential.  To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song.  We hope that the McCain campaign will do the right thing and stop using our song- and start asking artists' permission in general!
- Dave spent time campaigning for Kerry during the 2004 elections and it's pretty common knowledge that (at least part of) "In Your Honor" was inspired by the time he spent out campaigning.
- This occured as a response to the Bush campaign using "Times Like These" at rallies... again without artist permission.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "But Joyce, only idiots get their political information from celebrity endorsements."  I agree 100%.  Which is why I only use celebrity endorsements to decide what clothes, shoes, drinks, fast food, watches, perfumes, facial cleansers, make-up, cell phone carriers, and cars I should purchase. And its why you won't actually see an endorsement in the above... I can't actually claim that I know who the Grohlo is voting for, but I've got a hunch.  Perhaps you're wondering why I even bring up the preceding.  It's because Dave Grohl never makes a bad decision... can you think of any?  No, you can't.  Still not sure?

Exactly.  It doesn't get more American than that.

But if you really feel like you need an endorsement to sway your vote, here you go... I'm voting for Barack Obama and encourage you to do the same.  I'm pretty smart (I just don't always live up to my full potential) and I'm only a celebrity in my own head.

And I promise, if the Democrats make it into the White House they won't send the homosexuals to take away your guns and Bibles for at least a couple of years... they'll be too busy fixing the economy, dealing with the climate/energy crisis, and working on universal health care. :)

One of the reasons my job rules

When people ask what I'm doing I get to say things like "building rockets" and other such awesome things.  For example, this week I get to say I'm building a stadium.  Even when it's not that cool, it sounds interesting.  But usually it is.

One of the things I don't enjoy though is all the painting I end up doing... especially when I get grey or white paint in my hair.  If any of you have been around me when I've found an actual grey hair you surely understand why.  Lets just say that's not a surprise I deal with calmly.  Oh, and it hurts my wrists... but really, lets keep our priorities straight.

On a different note, I made some more cupcakes tonight... chocolate with peanut butter frosting!  I tried the frosting with two different tips, lemme know what you think (I like the star tip, but think I need a larger one... I like the size of the round one, but want to make sure that it looks appetizing).

Pumpkins!

Yesterday my friend Aaron actually convinced me to leave my house... and for Halloween and on a Friday no less!  But I didn't have to dress up (thank God, since every year I have a mild panic attack trying to figure out a costume, generally settling on staying in so that I don't have to make a decision), and my night consisted of sitting at his house... baby steps people.

Anyway, we all carved pumpkins... I spent the first half of my night trying to figure out what I was going to carve into my pumpkin... and then the second half making it happen.  Per usual, I couldn't pick something simple that would only take a short amount of time, no no, that's too easy.  I finally settled on (with a lot of urging on the part of Aaron) my awesome picture... click here too see the original.  I ended up taking probably three times as long (at least) as everyone else to carve mine and I only sliced open one of my fingers!  I was pretty pleased with the result.  Neither of these pictures really show all of the detail, but photographing lit pumpkins is more difficult that I expected.
